Fanduel Sportsbook: the good 👍

  • You can trust Fanduel: Fanduel has been around in the US since 2009 and is the second-largest daily fantasy sports provider.
  • Reliable Ownership: In 2018 FanDuel was bought by one of the largest sportsbooks in the world Paddy Power Betfair. Now you have a US-based company combined with the experience of a European sportsbook - a winning combination.
  • Great Juice: Fanduel uses a well-known and trusted odds provider.
  • The All American Sportsbook: With so few American focused sportsbooks in the betting market, FanDuel has one the absolute best selection of bets for baseball, basketball, football and Hockey.

Fanduel Sportsbook: the bad 👎

We can't find any disadvantages at the moment. FanDuel is really leading the way in the US sports betting market at the moment.

Fanduel Sportsbook Verdict

We love FanDuel as it has pretty much everything a US-based bettor could want. It is still early days in the US sports betting market, but FanDuel has been there since day 1. We expect that they will go from strength to strength as more and more US states legalize online betting within their borders.

FanDuel Full Review

Fanduel, the hugely popular US-based daily fantasy sports provider became one of the first homegrown sportsbooks in 2018 when sports betting in the US was legalized.

The sportsbook was acquired by the Irish sportsbook Paddy Power Betfair, a company with a wealth of experience in the industry.

This matchup couldn’t have worked better for the US market, with a win-win for both companies. FanDuel brought their years of experience in the US as well as a strong brand. Whilst Paddy Power Betfair, as the largest sportsbook in the world, helped FanDuel fast-track itself into becoming a sportsbook within the space of a few months.

States where FanDuel is up and running

FanDuel New Jersey FanDuel, along with PointsBet lead the pack in New Jersey. The sportsbook has been incredibly successful in the state.

FanDuel Pennsylvania FanDuel account for over half the wagers in the state of Pennsylvania.

FanDuel Nevada It is difficult to measure how successful FanDuel has been in Nevada as the legislation is so restrictive around online betting. You still need to sign-up, deposit and withdraw in person.

FanDuel West Virginia It is still early days in the Mountain State, but it looks like they have the lion's share of the market share.

FanDuel Indiana This is the only state where it looks like their biggest rival, Draftkings, have pipped them to the top spot. This may be down to the fact that their rival was a little earlier in their launch. We, therefore, expect things to even out in the future.

FanDuel Colorado The sportsbook invested heavily in the referendum campaign which saw the state legalize sports betting. It is now the largest sportsbook in the state.

FanDuel Illinois The online sportsbook were one of the first to set up shop in Illinois when the state legalized sports betting in 2020. FanDuel currently sponsors the Chicago Bulls.

FanDuel Tennessee The state only came online in 2021 but FanDuel has already launched its product and penned a deal with local NBA team the Memphis Grizzles.

FanDuel Iowa Fanduel have been active in the Hawkeye State since early 2021.

FanDuel Virginia FanDuel were the first online sportsbook to open in the state thanks to its partnership deal with the Washington Football Team.

FanDuel Michigan The online sportsbook launched in the Wolverine State in early 2021.

This must be how FanDuel was able to launch a website and mobile app so quickly. They are now accepting bets in New Jersey, the first state to overturn the legislation at a federal level and they look on track to firmly establish themselves as one of the biggest players in the market.

Fanduel comes with the backing of a European sportsbook giant but focuses solely on the US market.

In November 2018, Fan Duel became the sports betting partner of the NHL.

In mid-2019 FanDuel became only the second sportsbook to launch in PA. It is now, along with Sugarhouse, the only sportsbook to be up and running in both PA and NJ.

Betting with FanDuel sportsbook

No sooner had the Supreme Court announced their decision to legalize sports betting in the USA, than FanDuel had already launched their sportsbook. Thanks to their acquisition by PaddyPower Betfair they were able to launch an excellent service in almost no time at all.

FanDuel’s sportsbook is heavily focused on the US sports and contains a wide range of bets and competitive odds.

They use the same odds supplier, Kambi, as DraftKings and many other sportsbooks, so you can be sure that they are pretty much in line with the market average.

FanDuel is a great option for those of you who are current customers of their fantasy sports site. The design and function of their sportsbook site is very similar and you can even transfer funds between them.

FanDuel sportsbook mobile app

We really like DraftKings mobile app which is available for both Android and iOS devices. It’s easy to navigate, and quickly customises itself by reading your behaviour, supplying you with relevant current odds and events.

DraftKings also offers a sports betting training camp for new sports bettors. This is really excellent for US customers who are new to the world of sports betting.

Downloading the app can be a great idea if you are looking to bet in-play - so during the actual event. The app is a convenient way to both check odds and place a bet in the quickest possible time.

FanDuel sportsbook desktop site

FanDuel’s site is easy to use, listing all the major bets on its homepage and a list of all the sports along the left-hand side. By clicking on one of the sports you will be able to find a particular bet.

Along the right-hand side, you’ll be able to see your bet slip with all your current bets displayed. They will be split into three different sections: standard bets, teaser bets and round robins.

Fanduel’s website is well put together and looks good. It is nothing spectacular but it provides you with everything you need.

With so many years in the industry, we can tell you this far more important than a flashy website.

Crucially we have found no bugs or lag in their website, so as long as your connection speed is good then you can enjoy their live betting without any hiccups.

Which sports can you bet on with FanDuel?

Fanduel’s sportsbook focuses on American sports. It might have borrowed some of the technology from its European owners but its offering is entirely primed for the American market.

Fanduel excels at the American sports; baseball, basketball and football.

You can find the full list displayed along the left-hand side of their homepage. By clicking on the ‘Live’ tab at the top of the page you can see all the live odds offered on these sports.

    In-play betting with FanDuel

Some sportsbooks refer to live betting as in-play betting, but they both mean the same thing: betting on an event that is already underway. With live betting, you will be offered live odds but remember these can change rapidly according to how the event is unfolding.

In-play can be a nice alternative to standard bets when you get a feel for how a match or game will pan based on what you have seen rather than predicted.

As any sports fan will know things rarely pan out exactly how you imagined during a game.

We can also recommend in-play with FanDuel to anyone who is attending an event live. This is one of the only occasions where you have a slight advantage over the sportsbook, as they will be relying on a live stream, or live stats. When you feel you have spotted something the cameras are missing, maybe a player looks injured or the wind is stronger than it appears on TV then that might be a good time to place a live bet.

To place a live bet you must first check that FanDuel are offering live odds on the event. To do this simply click on the tab which says live, positioned in-between the homepage and the promotions page.

    FanDuel sportsbook cash out

This type of betting allows you to settle a bet at cash out odds offered by FanDuel before the actual event is finished. The odds will have of course either shortened or lengthened according to what has occurred.

This type of bet can be a useful way of either securing a certain amount of profit or cutting your losses.

For example, imagine you have backed a team to win, and they are in the lead, but with 10 minutes to go, you feel the other team might make a come back. You will be offered lower odds for cashing out that if you were to hold out and win your original bet, but if you are happy with a reduced level of profit then this could be a reasonable alternative in this particular scenario.

Speed is key when it comes to cashouts and in this aspect, FanDuel really do deliver. If you are either placing an in-play bet or attempting to cash out you need your sportsbook to react as quickly as possible to avoid anything happening in the event. Every cash out we have performed with FanDuel has been seamless.

When a cash-out is available with your FanDuel bet, a green tab will be displayed below your wager in the ‘active bets’ tab. Alongside the word cashout, they will state the amount you will receive from cashing out. Remember this can change in the space of a few seconds, so make sure you refresh your page before confirming your cash out.

    FanDuel sign-up sportsbook bonus

    Best Mobile App

This is one of the best sports betting welcome bonuses in the US at the moment.

The no sweat element simply means that you can place a bet - within the amount stated - and if you lose your bet, your money will be returned to you as bonus bets, which can be re wagered on the site, giving you a chance to win back your money.

It can take 72 hours to get your money back in your account, however, so be aware of this when you place your bets.

These incredibly generous welcome bonuses won't be around forever. The US online sports betting market is still in its infancy, so sportsbooks are extremely keen to grab as much market share as quickly as possible. SO, grab this sort of offer when they are still around!

    FanDuel sportsbook withdrawal

Nothing can be more frustrating than earning yourself some big bucks only to find you can’t withdraw your money. With FanDuel you don’t need to worry, your money is in safe hands.

As long as you live in a state which allows online sports betting you will be able to make a Fanduel withdrawal with check/e-check, prepaid card and Paypal. The withdrawals can take between 24 hours and seven working days.

To withdraw money with FanDuel all you need to do is choose your preferred payment method and enter the amount you want to deposit. Here is a list of how long your money will take to reach you depending on your payment method:

    • Mastercard 3-5 days
    • VISA 7-10 days
    • E-wallets 48 hours
    • Wire transfer 5-7 days

    FanDuel sportsbook Promos

For being such a new sportsbook, FanDuel has a mighty impressive selection of promos. These promos can range from betting insurance to boosted odds and can really add to the enjoyment of your betting experience.

Promotions can be a great incentive for customers to keep betting at an online betting site and no-one does it better in the USA than FanDuel. They mix it up with event-specific promos for customers excited about a particular game or tournament as well as bet-specific promos for customers more focused on a particular form of betting.

They do market some of the promos, including by email if you are signed up to their updates but perhaps the best way to keep updated is to check their promotions section regularly. Here you will find a list of all their current offers and promos.
