Florida is expecting to take action soon when it comes to legalize Online Sports betting & Online Casino
The fate of online sports betting in Florida currently rests in the voters hands. In 2018, after the senate reversed the federal ban on sports betting, the state amended the constitution, to ensure that any state decision on the subject would need to be decided by a referendum.
So democracy decides? Well... perhaps not. Recently disputes over the wording of the amendment, has led to a debate over wether sportsbooks could circumvent this rule. We think this is unlikely however due to the legal and political obstacles such a move would face, and we expect to see it go to the vote earliest November 2021.

There is no doubt that all US sportsbooks will have their sights set on Florida once the state decides to put the question of legalization to a vote. Until then, however it looks like there is only one way that sports betting would arrive in Florida and that is via the Seminole tribe.
The Seminole tribe currently control the vast majority of the gambling market in Florida.
The state of Florida had enjoyed a lucrative deal with the Seminole tribe which saw the tribe pay a $350 million annual payment to the state. However, in early 2020 the deal fell apart after a dispute regarding the Jai-alai venues.
The state now has a $350 million hole to fill in the budget, and one way that to do that is to allow the tribe to offer online sports betting. This would not only patch things up between the state and the Seminoles, but it would also provide a significant tax boost for the state.
Time will tell if this will be possible, but we know for certain that November 2021 will be the earliest time that Floridians will be able to vote on the matter.
