New Online Sportsbooks USA

When the Supreme Court struck down PASPA in 2018, it blew the doors wide open. That federal ban had kept most states locked out of legal sports betting for over 25 years. Once it was gone, states were free to make their own calls - and they didn’t waste time.

One by one, legislatures started flipping the switch, launching legal online sportsbooks with actual oversight, consumer protections, and away from those sketchy offshore betting days.

Below, we list our top new sportsbooks per state along with guidance on how to find the right product for your betting needs.

On this site, we only list new sportsbooks that are fully licensed and that you can trust. This is one of the most important factors when accessing a new sportsbook.

🤔 What we mean by 'new sportsbooks'

On this page, we list sportsbooks that are new to the US market in recent months i.e. a completely new sportsbook brand like Fanatics Sportsbook.

We also list established sportsbooks that are new to a state.

Since 2018, when the US Senate removed the federal ban on sports betting, there has been a steady flow of states coming online. When this happens established sportsbooks looking to launch in the state will have to launch a completely new state-specific product.

In short, there are new sportsbooks and there are existing sportsbooks launching new products.

Why Use a New Sportsbook?

Look, there’s nothing wrong with sticking to what you know. If you’ve been riding with DraftKings or FanDuel since day one, cool. But writing off new sportsbooks altogether? That’s how you leave value on the table.

Here’s why it pays to give the new guys a shot:

Bigger Sign-Up Bonuses

This one’s simple. New books are in growth mode, and they’re willing to pay for your attention. That usually means better up-front bonuses than what you’ll find at the big-name legacy books. It won’t last forever - but if you’re smart, you can take advantage before they tighten the offer sheet.

Innovation

A lot of new books aren’t just copying the old ones. Instead, they’re rethinking how this whole thing should work.

Some are building exchange-style models. Some are integrating loyalty rewards. Others are pushing live betting tech or trying new parlay formats. Point is, new books are where you’ll find actual change - sometimes good, sometimes clunky - but worth paying attention to.

More Ongoing Value

It’s not just about the welcome bonus. New sportsbooks often offer more consistent ongoing promos - odds boosts, no sweat bets, low-risk bet insurance. That’s because they’re still trying to hook you, not coast off a massive user base. If you’re cycling through multiple books, these extras can quietly stack up.

Different Pricing Models

Not all new sportsbooks use the same old juice-heavy system. Some have tighter spreads, dynamic pricing, or alternate market structures entirely.

That opens up potential value - not because the book is generous, but because their model isn’t as mature (or as defensive) yet.

Soft Markets & Delayed Movement

New sportsbooks are often a step behind in odds movement - especially on props, alt lines, or fringe markets. They might copy lines from the big guys but update slower or misprice overnight. That delay opens windows for early betting or line grabs before the number corrects.

More Options for Line Shopping

This one’s evergreen. Every additional sportsbook you add to your rotation gives you more opportunities to find better odds, softer lines, or mispriced props. Even if you only use a new book situationally, it can still be the difference between squeezing profit—or missing it.

What to look for in a new sportsbook

So you’re ready to dive into sports betting - but have no idea where to start? You’re not alone. This world can feel like it’s built for insiders - guys rattling off lines, vigs, and parlays like it’s second nature.

But here’s the thing: legal sports betting in the U.S. only got rolling in 2018. That means millions of Americans are still figuring it out, just like you.

Let’s keep it simple. When you're sizing up a new sportsbook, here are the key things to look for:

New Sportsbook Checklist - Welcome Offer ✅

When a sportsbook enters a new state, it’s in customer-grab mode - which means big welcome bonuses. They want you to sign up, try the app, and stick around. And the easiest way to get your attention? Bonus bets.

That’s great news for bettors. Since legalization is still rolling out state by state, operators are throwing serious promo cash around to win you over.

The newer the book, the juicier the bonus. Just look at the difference - DraftKings and FanDuel offer modest promos these days. But a newer name like Fanatics? They’ll throw the kitchen sink at you to peel you away from the big dogs.

Most of these “new” books aren’t small-time, either. They’re global players with deep pockets, willing to spend big to break into the U.S. market. Which means you get to cash in while they compete for your business.

New Sportsbook Checklist - Odds ✅

Odds matter. It’s that simple. Over time, they’re the difference between profit and just breaking even - so don’t ignore them when picking a new sportsbook.

Sure, odds comparison sites are great for one-off bets. But if you’re choosing a book to ride with long-term, you want one that consistently offers better value than the market average.

Most new sportsbooks use big-name suppliers like Kambi to set their lines, so the juice tends to look pretty similar across the board. Still, over enough bets, small differences add up - and some books do edge out the rest.

However, if we look at enough bets over an extended period of time then we can start to see which new sportsbooks offer slightly better odds.

New Sportsbook Checklist - Betting Variety ✅

It’s not just what you can bet on - it’s how you can bet it. The best sportsbooks go beyond the basics and give you real flexibility.

A top-tier sportsbook covers a wide variety of markets - from the big leagues (NFL, NBA, college ball) to niche stuff like darts, snooker, or Korean baseball. That’s your market variety. But it also needs depth - props, alt lines, team totals, and obscure matchups that other books skip.

Then come the tools. Same game parlays have become the standard now, though not everyone does them well. The better books offer SGP+, where you can stack legs across multiple games. Microbetting lets you fire on the next pitch or drive, perfect for live-action bettors who don’t want to wait four quarters.

If you’re serious about betting, you want options - across sports, within games, and with every bet type under the sun. The deeper the book, the better your edge.

New Sportsbook Checklist - App ✅

If your sportsbook app sucks, none of the other stuff matters. Doesn’t matter how big the bonus is or how good the odds look - if you can’t place a bet without the app crashing or lagging mid-game, you’re gonna bounce.

A good sportsbook app should be fast, clean, and dead simple to use. Markets should be easy to find, live bets should update in real time, and deposits and withdrawals should feel seamless.

Most new books know this and come out swinging with sleek, mobile-first platforms. Some even toss in extras like personalized bet suggestions, custom feeds, or live streaming. Others… clearly didn’t spend enough time on QA.

Before you commit, download the app, poke around, and try placing a few test bets. If the experience is clunky, that’s a red flag. You’re trusting this thing with your money - it should run like it.

Fanatics

Best New App in the US

New Sportsbook Checklist - Live Betting ✅

If you’re not live betting, you’re missing half the action. And if your new sportsbook doesn’t handle it well, it’s not worth your time.

Live betting lets you jump in mid-game - adjusting on the fly as momentum shifts. But it only works if the book can keep up. The best live platforms offer real-time odds with minimal lag, quick bet acceptance, and a wide range of in-game markets - from full game lines to player props and microbets.

Some new books are pushing this hard with live streaming, real-time odds, and smoother interfaces built for in-game betting. Others... still stuck buffering when the drive’s already over.

Live betting should feel fast, fluid, and sharp. If a book can't deliver that? Skip it. There are better options out there.

New sportsbooks in different states

The sportsbook situation in the US can be a little hard to understand. At the federal level sports betting has been legal since the PASPA was removed in 2018. Now everything is being decided at the state level, with each state deciding whether they will allow sportsbooks to set up in their states.

However, it gets even more complicated, as each state places its own restrictions on the sports betting companies. This means that a new sportsbook may set up shop in New Jersey but decide against moving into Pennsylvania.

This means that you should worry less about what sportsbooks are new in the US and more what sportsbooks are new in your state. This also means that you will need to signup with the sportsbook's product that is specific to your state.

You will find that a lot of the new sportsbooks will be partnered with an existing casino. This is often due to state legislation which requires online sportsbooks to partner with an existing physical establishment. This is so the state can retain some degree of control over the sports betting industry.

New Sportsbooks to look out for in 2025

The U.S. sports betting scene keeps getting deeper, and 2025 is no different. Most of the new action this year is coming from big-name books expanding into fresh legal markets - and a few newer players trying to claw their way into relevance.

Here’s who to keep on your radar:

Fanatics Sportsbook

After picking up PointsBet’s U.S. business in 2023, Fanatics went full throttle. They’re now live in over a dozen states and climbing. The real edge? You earn FanCash on your bets, then turn around and spend it on jerseys, hats, and whatever else you want from their massive merch catalog. Big brand, slick app, solid promos. They’re not just playing - they’re trying to win the whole thing.

Bet365

Still technically “new” in the U.S., but make no mistake - this is one of the sharpest sportsbooks on the planet. bet365 has been slowly rolling out across the country, recently adding Illinois to the list. The in-play betting is best-in-class, and the odds? Usually better than the big American names. Quietly one of the best options out there if it’s legal in your state.

Hard Rock Bet

Hard Rock gave their old sportsbook a much-needed reboot, and it paid off. The new Hard Rock Bet app is cleaner, faster, and built for live bettors. They’ve also managed to carve out legal access in Florida, which most sportsbooks can’t touch. Not the flashiest option out there, but they’ve got momentum and keep improving their product.

ESPN BET

Launched in late 2023 through a deal with PENN Entertainment, ESPN BET came in with media muscle and a familiar logo. It’s already picked up market share thanks to built-in promos and constant mentions during game broadcasts. While they’ve got the bankroll to compete, we are not fans of their platform and strongly believe they’ll need to step it up if they want to hang with the big dogs long-term.

No New Sportsbooks in Your State? Think Again

Cole Redding
Cole Redding - Editor-in-Chief

If your state hasn’t legalized online sports betting yet, you’re probably used to getting the short end of the stick. No FanDuel. No DraftKings. Just a bunch of promos you can’t use and a growing pile of FOMO.

But here’s the good news: legal betting alternatives do exist - and they’re getting better fast.

Social sportsbooks like Fliff and Dabble offer a totally legal workaround that allows you to bet on your favorite sports. Instead of betting with cash, you play with virtual coins. Some coins can be purchased, others are free, and you can still redeem winnings for real-money rewards.

Is it the same as a full-blown sportsbook? Not quite. But for states like Texas, California, or Georgia - where legal betting’s still stuck in neutral - it’s the closest thing you’ve got.

A few reasons these social books are worth checking out:

  • They’re 100% legal in all 50 states (no VPN needed).

  • You can still bet on real games, spreads, totals, player props - you name it.

  • Some even offer daily bonuses and odds boosts just like the big boys.

  • You can get started with zero deposit.

So if your state’s dragging its feet, don’t sit on the sidelines. Social sportsbooks let you play the game without breaking the rules. And with more features dropping every month, they’re starting to look a lot more like the real thing.
