This was then followed by Governor Mike Dunleavy's support of legal sports betting. The added revenue brought in by sports betting taxation was supposed to go to state programs, such as foster care.
However, with the legislative session coming to a close in early in 2020, no bill was passed.
It is highly likely that this will be brought up for discussion during the 2021 state legislative session.
